Maryland Beverage Recipes

Marylanders love these drinks. Horse racing's Preakness features the Black-Eyed Susan cocktail. And no party in Maryland is complete without a Chesapeake Bloody Mary. But you have to try an Orange Crush - first made in Ocean City and now Baltimore's unofficial drink of summer - they're delicious!

1 tsp. minced onion (dry)
1 tsp. ground black pepper
1 tsp. celery salt
1 tsp. celery seeds
1/4 tsp. hot sauce or to taste
3 Tbsp. fresh lime juice
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
1 cup vodka or to taste

Instructions:
Combine all ingredients except vodka. Stir well and chill 8 hours or overnight. Stir in vodka just before serving. Serve over ice with stick of celery. Makes 2 quarts. Tip: wet the rim of the serving glass and dip the rim in Old Bay Seasoning. This makes a nice (and spicy) presentation.
